Prevent shock absorber piston stems from rotating when trying to loosen retaining nuts and hold them still during installation so seals aren’t damaged with the STEELMAN PRO 78587 8mm Hex Shock Absorber Piston Stem Stabilizing Bit. Made from hardened chrome vanadium (CR-V) steel for superior durability, this 8mm bit features a traditional male hex design that fits snugly into the top of shock absorber pistons to hold them still when working on mounting fasteners. The outside shank of the hexagonal bit measures 12mm allowing easy operation by a socket and ratchet or closed box and open ended combination hand wrenches. The tool measures just under 4-inches in length to give you the reach needed to go through pass through sockets easily and access piston stems. Size markings and callouts are permanently laser etched into the metal for easy identification and will not rub off or wear away with use. Designed for use on suspension piston stems on shock absorbers used in Mercedes Benz vehicles.
