Outside Equipment Sales Representative (Aerial Lifts & Heavy Equipment)

About the Role:
Equipment Leader is a growing startup equipment and tool sales company seeking a motivated closer to work a mix of company-provided leads and self-generated opportunities. This role focuses primarily on aerial lifts (boom lifts and scissor lifts), with additional equipment lines assigned as needed.
This is a field-based, startup environment ideal for someone comfortable with outreach, equipment demos, and closing deals in a fast-moving, evolving organization.
What You’ll Be Selling:
• Aerial lifts (boom lifts & scissor lifts)
• Additional heavy equipment, tools, and attachments as assigned
Responsibilities:
• Work assigned and inbound leads, plus cold calling and prospecting
• Close deals with contractors, rental yards, municipalities, and commercial customers
• Perform on-site equipment demonstrations, including aerial lifts
• Travel throughout the Southeastern U.S. as needed
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and quoting through close
• Coordinate with manufacturers and internal teams on availability, demos, and delivery
• Other responsibilities as assigned
Territory & Startup Notice:
Equipment Leader is in a startup phase. Sales territories may change based on company growth, customer needs, and performance.
Requirements:
• Sales experience (equipment, construction, industrial, or B2B preferred)
• Current boom lift and scissor lift certification/license (required)
• Experience working with aerial lifts
• Comfortable performing live equipment demonstrations, including operating lifts over 170 feet
• Willingness to travel regionally
• Strong prospecting, follow-up, and closing skills
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must have a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Must be a U.S. citizen
Compensation & Structure:
• 1099 commission-based role initially
• Company-provided leads plus self-generated opportunities
• Clear path to W-2 full-time position with benefits as the company grows
