Prevent shock absorber piston stems from rotating when trying to loosen retaining nuts and hold them still during installation so seals aren’t damaged with the STEELMAN PRO 78589 3.5mm Thick E-Type / Slotted Shock Absorber Piston Stem Stabilizing Bit. Made from hardened chromoly (CR-MO / chrome molybdenum) steel for superior durability, this bit features a tip shaped like a thick bladed slotted screwdriver that fits snugly into the top of shock absorber pistons to hold them still when working on mounting fasteners. Actual blade tip dimensions are 10mm x 3.5mm at the tip. The end of the bit features a 10mm hex allowing easy operation by a socket and ratchet or closed box and open ended combination hand wrenches. The tool measures 3-5/8-inches in length to give you the reach needed to go through pass through sockets easily and access piston stems. Size markings and callouts are permanently laser etched into the metal for easy identification and will not rub off or wear away with use. Designed for use on suspension piston stems on shock absorbers used in Chrysler, Ford, Citroen, and Peugeot vehicles.
